WISE learning centre

Wycombe Islamic Society (WISE) have been running activities from The WISE Learning Centre for over 6 years. The Centre is registered as a place of worship with the Registrar's Office, and serves as a place for 5-daily prayers. As the centre can only accommodate up to 50 people, Jumuah and Taraweeh prayers are held at our Islamic Centre on Station Road.

The Learning Centre and the adjoining WISE Islamic Bookshop serve as a classroom for studying Quran, Islam, and other subjects such as English and Maths. As well as classes for children, Islamic circles are held for men on Friday and Saturday evenings covering topics of beliefs (aqeedah) and actions (fiqh). Classes for women are held on Sunday afternoons. The entrance to the prayer place is from the white door at the rear of the Centre.

Imam Abu Sohayb also offers an Islamic surgery to offer advice and counselling on issues facing Muslim individuals. Although he is available at most times for pastoral work, he has a drop-in advice surgery at the WISE Learning Centre on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 1.30 till 3pm.

The WISE Learning Centre also serves as a mini meeting venue for local community groups. The Bowerdean Residents Action Group (BRAG), Wycombe Sharing of Faiths, and the Spotlight Community Magazine hold meetings at the Centre. The Centre has recently been refurbished with a grant from Biffaward to help bring the venue up to scratch: Biffa Award

The WISE Learning Centre is located at 17-18 Portland House, Arnison Avenue, High Wycombe, Bucks HP13 6DQ:
